South Florida Getaway (#Treesquare July 17; Lens Artists #157)

Hello Readers – Combining #Treesquares with the Lens-Artists’Getting Away“ theme.

How is this for a view from a nice and easy getaway?

The beach is one of our favorite places to getaway.

This old song comes to mind, Ocean by Ten Shekel Shirt

We moved to the east coast so we could be near family. However, we also wanted to be closer to the ocean. Colorado is wonderful (yes!) but it is also land locked and we are very grateful for access to the ocean for easy getaways.

Closing this post with six street shots from South Florida – showing little tidbits from a fun getaway.

  1. Such a lovely post, and I just LOVE palm trees! I will be putting together a post for Trees square using palm trees as well. We sure have a lot of them in CA too!! I too love the ocean and have always lived near the Pacific ocean. Colorado is beautiful too! My sister and family live there and I have visited there often. Have a wonderful weekend!

    1. Hi D – Your palm tree post sounds like. great topic – and I also have a palm tree post in a draft that will link to a master Gardener (Tony) who wrote about the different types of palms and maybe with your post will show the west coast and I will show a few from the east coast – I look forward to your post!

    1. Hi – well this is not quite outside the door – but within a short distance and so much more doable then if we were 1,500 or 2,000 miles away 🙂 – and now you – well you have a little slice of heaven outside your door!! ha

  2. You definitely found a room with a view — and oh, what a whopper it is! I’d love to stay there and gaze out the window, even though we still love sitting right by the water for hours at a time. (Lots of sunscreen!) Thanks for contributing to the challenge this week. Here’s hoping we get in a lot more getaways in our lifetime!

    1. Hi JT – I think it was coffee and it was easy to get the steak because the apartment was so cold! Made it an easy thing to get 😉

        1. I remember that from a book I read … the author lived there and said every afternoon there was a thunderstorm. We are under a severe thunderstorm warning until 9:30 … they lifted the tornado warning just minutes ago. We had a tornado go through a town 140 miles from here.

        2. Oh hope there was not a lot of damage from the weather – we had some stormy afternoons this week but not too bad- thankfully – and grabbed a sunflower photo to share with you – took it last week from a street shot – and none of my own sunflowers made it – think I planted them too late

        3. We had four tornadoes in Michigan last Saturday night and significant flooding. I feel lucky to be unscathed. The severe weather was moving southeast at 35 miles an hour and left behind four tornadoes and devastation. I was a Nervous Nellie waiting for the tornado to get to Wayne County … luckily it fizzled out, but we are having some potentially severe weather tomorrow night (overnight) if this storm holds together coming from Wisconsin. Please Fall … show up soon as I need a respite from Summer!

    1. well there is still SO much beauty to enjoy hourly – ha! and the reservoir and other ways to get water needs met, right? so let’s both bloom where we are planted and fed the beauty right under our nose 🙂

  3. Talk about a room with a view! I love palm trees and now it is about 18 months since we have seen one or an ocean for that matter. I shall soak in the view virtually and hope for future getaways.

    1. Hi donna, and maybe the oceans are not for all – because some like mountains and some need to city life or the farm hills….
      have a nice day

      1. Yes. I agree. For me. I just love to be outside. Lol. We finally have rain in Arizona, and THAT is beautiful too. The puddles are like heaven.
