Time for Thursday Doors, hosted by Dan Antion. and today’s photos are from Monroe, Louisiana.
We recently made our second visit to Monroe, Louisiana.

We went with some friends to eat at a popular cajun seafood restaurant called Trapp’s.

How was Trapps? Great!
Both times, we would give it a full five stars for food, atmosphere, and service. I am not a huge seafood fan, preferring grass-fed red meat, but I do enjoy some seafood. At Trapp’s, the fried shrimp, different cajun soups, and catfish are worth traveling for.
- The first time we dined there, it was late winter and they let us sit on the patio. There were a few others out there and they went out of their way to bring us another heater. There were see-through shades closing in the patio but you could still see flickers of lights on the Ouachita River.
- The second time we dined there, we also sat on the patio but it was a warm summer afternoon with a clear river view.
- If you look at the collage below, the patio door had an ad for Luke Combs. I like some of his songs – and this post would likely go well with “Going South on Ya” – what do you think Equinoxio? However, rather than sharing “Gong South on Ya” – I will share a song I like a little more, Where the Wild Things Are. Hope you all (I mean y’all) do not mind…..

On the way to Trapp’s, we decided to visit the Duck Dynasty Command Center Warehouse (info here)
However, we think it is no longer open for business.
The website advertised the warehouse like this:

This is what we saw:

We made time for a short walk in downtown Monroe.
Perfect opportunity to grab some door photos.

I do like those planters! Lime green always gets my attention.
I’ve become allergic to shrimp as an adult, but those sure look good. (K)

Hi – cheers to the planters – and regarding shrimp – I am reluctant to eat too much of it because I heard there were recalls on shrimp – and interesting that your allergy came later – hmmmm

The doors are great, the museum was a bummer, the food was ever so yummy looking (why do I see food photos before my lunchtime knowing what’s in the kitchen isn’t as yummy and if it was, I’d have to spend time doing prep and cooking)
The green planters are not to my taste

It seems that anywhere provides good opportunities to find excellent doors … and that’s a good thing. 🙂

Good point, Frank – and so many times it is not just the actual door – but the charm could be
the hardware, a poster, or the entrance items overall

I like the idea of the tourist attraction of an over-sized postcard to pose in front of – fun! I like cajun food, so what you showed us looks good to me. I do like the bright green planters – they liven up the place and no one will steal them as they’d stick out at someone’s residence like a sore thumb. That was a unique door as well.

Hi Linda – that mural DOES look like a giant postcard –
there was a lot of street art around the corner from that – and I hope to share some of it later in a post.
Thanks for the comment about the cajun food and planters too

The mural postcard was clever Yvette. I’ll forward to your other street art.

I love seafood, all kinds so Trapp’s would be my kind of place! The view is great too! Thanks for sharing Luke Combs! I love his music too and that was a great song. I use to watch Duck Dynasty, wonder what happened to their place? Unless like you said there’s a different place for a museum…. LOVE catching up on your travels as you share you cool photos!! I’m so happy we can keep blogging, even if it’s like you said, whenever we get the chance to write or read to catch up!
Have a great weekend! ❤️🐴❤️

Thanks Diana, I think Duck Dynasty has a new show out called Duck Family Treasure – and if we ever find the museum to be at a different place – I will follow up and let you know
And hope you are having a great weekend also

Hi Janis, we are just now exploring this area of the US and had not known much of it – so I am glad to share some of the small things we discover – and cheers to pops of colors like those planters offered

thanks Keith – I went out of my way to add part of the window into this post (partly because of the flamingo) and so I appreciate you noting that part :_)

Hi – I am kind of a homebody too. But sometimes we have to travel to see family (sigh) or we have family come visit and then go and do things – but even with family visits – many times everyone wants to NOT go and do things – but I do feel more like a homebody – but I guess we might define it different – and I actually get tired of traveling (find it exhausting_ and so I like day trips or short weekend things…
