Priorhouse Street Shots Alone Time Vibe (Lens-Artist Photo Challenge Feb26-2023) & Roses for Aunt C. RIP

Good Morning Readers,

The Lens-Artist Photo Challenge this week is ALONE TIME

It has been a while since I shared some Priorhouse Street Shots.  I have a folder filled with them but rather than sort through those, it just so happens that I have some fresh photos from this month, February 2023, which have a solo vibe. They are not the best quality but I was going for mood, layers, verticals, and subject.

1) Alone time (phone time) on the balcony at the museum, above the Chihuly Reeds
2) Walking along the Chihuly Red Reeds on a chilly February day….
5A: Street musician doing some “guitaring”

A little music today?

PERFIDIA (1944) Spanish Guitar Solo – by #estebanmusic (2019)

5B: Street musician sidewalk view

6) Woof!

7) Alone time with some friends…. snack party in the park!

In closing – My Aunt C. passed away this morning. She was in hospice for many months and so it was not unexpected; however, we still feel the loss.

My aunt lived well into her 80s and she had many life fruits.

So this next image (with some roses) is a tribute to my Aunt C.- RIP

  1. Your picture of the one man on the balcony and the other below on the walkway is great. I also like the one of the “ladies who snack.” Those heels on the white shoes are impressive. I’m sorry that you lost your aunt this morning. Even though it was expected, it’s still hard.

    1. Janis – thanks for the feedback – and with the guy in the balcony – I was trying to capture him at the corner of the
balcony but he moved around too much – and getting the other guy below was on accident
and it is such a weird feeling when you know someone is in hospice and have all this time to prep – so much different than the surprise departures – and I am still processing the experience and feelings – hmmm
      thanks again

  2. Well, Yvette, you certainly succeeded in showing solo vibes! And the images fit well what you were aiming at. Sorry for your loss, but beautiful music and lovely roses make the tribute beautiful.

  3. This week’s theme is so good for showing tiny snippets of life. The street musician’s sidewalk view is a fresh and interesting perspective. (I’m sorry about your aunt.)

    1. Hi Dan – thanks so very much for the note about the sidewalk view in particular – it was so blurry, I almost deleted it that day ( I am trying to go through photos right away so I do not have a lot of junky phot o clutter – but it is not easy) anyhow, I am glad I saved that one because it showed the shop worker too
      — and now it seems some like it 🙂

      1. I try to go through my photos and delete, too. Digital clutter is real. But sometimes, it’s not about the photographic quality, but about the story a photo tells.

    1. hahah – it did look like cake and champagne – or it might be sandwiches in those boxes – I wish I grabbed
      more photos of those ladies
      and thanks for the condolences

    2. Hi BB – thanks for the feedback and the three ladies at lunch almost seemed to be part of a movie set – just with their costumes and the mood – hmmmm
thanks for checking this post out

  4. Great collection. I love the guitarist in the street. Interesting how he will attract many people, and yet he remains along. I am sorry for the loss of your aunt. Even though it was expected, it is still tough. What a great way to honor her, here. You are not alone in your grief, sending love.

    1. thanks for the comment on the guitar player – he wqs just setting up as I walked by and so I turned
back around to give my dollar (was shcoked I even had cash on me – hahah)
and with my aunt – thanks for the condolences – I almost didn’t menton it here but I just got the news while
finishing this post and had to!
Also, I heard from everyone that was there with her that she was really ready and was at peace

      1. There is always comfort in knowing our loved ones were at peace.

I’m surprised you had a dollar too. Lol. The young generation won’t even know the differences in currency. Such is life.

  5. I’m sorry for your loss. What terrific shots! Even the blurry ones jump with motion. Thanks, too, for the roses and the guitar music. I come away from this post refreshed.

  6. Sorry to hear about your Aunt C and it was nice you memorialized her here with your words and the beautiful roses. I always recognize those Chihuly Reeds even before you identify them. When I worked in Downtown Detroit we often had street musicians, including guitar players, sitting on street corners. It’s been a while since I saw them as we moved from Downtown Detroit when we went out on our own in 2003.

    1. Hi Linda – the VMFA is not original in having Red Reeds from the Chihuly gang – but ours were the
third official “permanent” installation and I just wish they were out front of the museum so we could see them when we drive by. Why hid them behind the museum?
      thanks for the comment

  7. Hi Yvette, I’m sorry about your Aunt. No matter how expected death can be when someone is on hospice, it’s still a loss like you’ve said. There’s also peace found in the passing moments as the person is no longer in pain. Your tribute to her is beautiful. (PS – as always, I enjoy your street photos, you always capture such unique shots!) 🤗

    1. Thanks so much Shelley! My aunt had such a sweet ending – her daughter could see the decline nd was able to invite friends and family to come and say goodbye. Wow – that does not always happen….

anyhow, hope you are having a nice weekend – it has been so old here and when I was bundling up – I remembered your point
about the extra bit of exercise ! ha

      1. Aw, I agree, that is such a sweet way to have peace with the passing of a loved one. For the loved one as well as the family. It definitely doesn’t always happen.
I hope you have a great week…it’s still cold here and I’m sure I’ll have to wear lots of layers again or hit the treadmill instead! Keep on keeping on!
