Very good Yvette! As I was putting my post together this week I was amazed at how many of my motion images included water. You’re so right about it’s healing power. well shown and said!

The motion of water is a really sight. Beautiful shots. I enjoyed the quotes and your thoughts on water too. When things aren’t good, going to wash our faces or shower certainly help us feel a bit more or even very refreshed before continuing to work on our problems. I didn’t know about power cleaning with water and will try some time; the feeling of accomplishment for completing even a small task might add even more positive feelings too.

Hi gift – you comment reminded me
Of two things –
Does – a simple face wash can be uplifting and refreshing too – thanks for that
And then also – I guess the feeling of a project “done”
(cleaned and fresh after cleaning) can add to the lift and refreshment feeling!
💦💧😊
Have you ever heard of any cuddy and her power poses? Well her research shows the position of the body changes our chemistry and she has “power poses” (not new to her but she expounds on this) and many involve the raising of the arms – which Ooens the chest and core!
So perhaps the cleaning I the shower also offers all this arm and shoulder opening – adding to the benefit?
LikeLike
Hello Yvette. I’m very sorry I replied late. I didn’t know about Cuddy and power pose, so I looked them up a bit. That’s interesting. I have yet to try power pose, but I guess certain kinds of arm and shoulder movements can help. Moving is already pretty energizing, haha. Water plus moving probably make it even better as you said.

Hi Derrick – don’t know much about the Painting but it was at a used art sale in Titusville FL and because I refuse to buy more art (even if wonderful) I take photos of ones I like.

Some great images here, Yvette, and a song that was new to me – I rather liked it 😊

Hi Clive – thanks for checking out this post and esp thanks for the note on the song…. I forgot I added it in there (ha! I have had a cold this week and feel like crap) anyhow – when I heard the word motion – my mind went right to the word “move”

You don’t even have old age as an excuse! Hope you’re feeling better now. Move could be a good theme for me – stored in my memory bank 👍

Oh glad you stored the move word !
And the worse is behind me but still a little blah!
Less moving and lots of rest!

Yes and for some reason – I found myself reading your excellent 2019 update post –

I love those quotes about motion, Yvette. I’m not convinced about power cleaning the shower, but you are right, it is good exercise.

Hi Norah – I think so much depends on the individual and how much physical movement they have experienced – in our tech jo culture and wisdom job world – people Troy don’t move enough!

I love the Franklin quote, and your photos are wonderful. I agree that water is great for kids (and adults). We used water play with kids in therapy because it was so fun, calming, and engaging. It swept their troubles away. Lovely post, Yvette.

I think the pool water has a lot of motion. I have opened my eye under the water in my pool
and it looks like stained glass. You captured that, Yvette, perfectly. Wonderful selections … Izzy 😎

All such beautiful images. So interesting about power scrubbing the shower. I hope to remember that. I imagine the sense of accomplishment that comes with it is a large part of the mood boost.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Hi – I think the sense of accomplishment has its perks – but I also think the physical use of the body can release pent up energy and maybe the raising and lowering of the arms helps with core energy flow and then the mind and attention can be on something mundane for a little while – hmmm probably different for everyone

Thank you Yvette. I am pushing bigtime now as we had good weather for a week. Unfortunately I may get a walk in tomorrow, just at my regular park since we have rain at mid-day through Sunday night. The lawns and flowers need it but it messes up everyone’s weekend plans.

Lovely captures, Yvette! And I am with you – water is miraculous! Hydration is so important for us all, and helps our cells move & get their jobs done. I’ve written about water several times on my site. Hope your week is going swimmingly! 🌞

Hi Lisa – I am sure I have seen you cover water in a post – as you really do try to share your knowledge and learning with readers.☀️☀️
And in this post I wasn’t even thinking of water inside the body – I was more referring to the splashing around and refreshment that comes from physically connecting with the element of water.
And while on the topic of hydration tho- I have learned something over the last couple of decades about drinking too ouch water –
Because we need oils and electrolytes (and food with vitamins minerals and fats) for fuel and we also feed cells this way whereas hydrating the body (with all those ounces of water from a bottle )is a bit confusing because people assume it is this beautiful thing when it does not do as much as people think
Now us – some folks need more fluids and water – but I believe that when the food is right (with enough fats and oiks and meat) and with less vegetables – well the body has fuel and doesn’t need the constant flushing with water.
I also experienced this first hand –
I used to be queen of drinking water and thought it was so healthy – but those were the days of the driest skin and lots of cravings
So I guess all that to say that I am not an advocate of the huge water bottles that people carry around and I feel the body needs nutrients fats and oils more than constantly being flushed with water -💦💧💦💧
Does that make sense?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Indeed, Yvette. I have written about healthy fats being hydrating, the importance of mineralizing your water, and the reasons why some fruits & veggies are more hydrating than plain water. As well as how well an epsom salt bath hydrates the body. So, no, I don’t believe it’s all about just water. My huge water bottle always has electrolytes in it. 🌞

Sounds like you know a lot of effective info (many don’t) and it was refreshing to read that
((Even tho I am still learning so much and I know I will improve and change a few things as more learning continues – ))
