Hello readers, this week’s doors have a little art connection.
First, art near the door…

Next, Art on the door

Lastly, do you think this is art? Stickers all over the doors?
….Some would say so, but I dunno.

NOTES
- The Thursday Doors’ Writing Challenge link is here. Select a door and then write a short story to go with it. I selected the door I am going to use and will tackle the writing soon.
- If you missed the Priorhouse Thursday Doors post featuring artist Dumile Feni – check it out HERE. “Dumile Feni made emotionally charged drawings, paintings, and sculptures.
- If you want to read a book that will lift your spirits and maybe allow some virtual travel- check out the Priorhouse book, Staying Alive (2021).
I am so proud of the way this book came out as I put together 54 of my 200+ flash-fiction entries (from three years of publishing online with various writing groups) and then shared behind the story tidbits for each entry. This book also might offer ideas for authors who need to categorize some of their published work. Staying Alive is available HERE on Amazon
- See you this Saturday (5/7/22) with the Priorhouse Interview featuring Mabel Kwong

Nice finds! I think the sticker door qualifies as art in a collage sort of way. 😀

The painted art on the door is cool. Not as sure about the sticker art…. Art by the door, of course, is nice as well.

These days, I’m going to be open minded and say it’s all art. I like the first door the best, but that’s just personal preference.
Thanks for shouting out the writing challenge.

Hi Dan – that first door was at a very nice restaurant we went to for my MIL’s 75th bday
And so a special memory with it
And I hope you have a nice weekend

My step daughter covered her door with stickers and when we sold the house we had to replace the door!

My refrigerator door is covered with phone numbers, doctor’s appts, grocery lists, little pictures and other important to do things. And of course a dozen or two extra magnets to use when needed.
Does this count?

Hi lady sighs – that sounds like a beautiful collage of life in the center area of your home and counts as a living kind of life art- that is what I would say!
My husband and I had a magnet collection for the first five years of marriage and we had over 250 magenta – now I think that would be tacky – and when we donated all of the magnets – I kept three.

I guess anything can be art. If my grandkids put stickers on a door, I’d announce it was a masterpiece! 💙💜

Awe – that brought a smile – such a supportive grandmother – and I wonder if this restaurant lets customers add stickers ? Hm

Stickers on the doors are certainly different.

The sticker doors are a bit cluttered but I would like to go up and see the stickers close up .

Anne! Funny you should say that because I was just scrolling in to see some and wish I had more details –
I will see if I have a closer version but not sure I do –

I like the door with the art. The ones with the stickers would be interesting if you were reading the stickers but it’s a bit busy otherwise to say the least. 🙂 Good find for Thursday Doors, though, and much like my sign from yesterday.

Well Janet – I meant to come over and share this picture there! Your post made me go with these three today. I have about 15 door images in a folder that I skim when I have time for a doors post – and so (yet again) sustainability was whispering- hahsha

Super cool art doors. Yup – I call three of them art. Thank you for sharing them!

And the collage feel is really there with the stickers and I am checking to see if I have a closer version because just today i wondered what some said…

I like the categories … And I suppose the stickers are collaborative art – it would be great if you could add yours next time, Yvette!

Hi Maria – I think vendors get a lot of stickers with deliveries and so maybe this is not open to customers – but they do have a visual statement and can’t believe I walked right by them… but I was looking left and they were to the right!
Hope your weekend is off to a nice start

Nice variety in the collection. My favorite is the Kar O. The stickers are absolutely art!

Your sticker door reminds me of the firefigher patch collections I’ve seen. My father-in-law was a 46 year firefighter and the patch was always something they’d have on hand to trade in different cities. Not the same with your door, but just brought it to mind. I’m cool with it.

Thanks fo sharing that comment! That patch exhale sounds like a cool thing to connect with colleagues with! Am did you say 46 years? Oh wow! What a career and thanks engine for his service on the front lines as a community helper

Yes, 46 years. Sadly he passed in 2013 but I was able to gift him a 911 quilt in 2001. We never imagined he’d keep going that much longer as he retired in 2012. We certainly were proud of & appreciated his dedication.

I don’t think stickers are art – no creativity there and could be fun, but also defacing property when you think about it. I like the middle photo with the googly eyes and bright colors the best of your Thursday doors Yvette.
