Curves in Art (20MARCH2022 Lens-Artist’s Photo Challenge #191)

Hello readers, this week’s Lens-Artist challenge invites us to share photos with curves. I decided to go with an art theme.

Now let’s switch gears (or curve in a new art direction) to explore some paintings with curves.

__

As I explored curves in art, I was reminded that art has such variety! From the medium to the content to the size to the final look. In this post, I liked the metal art because I am always amazed at how bending metal can lead to one creative outcomes.

The fourth image is a painting that has a causeway (bridge to the Atlantic ocean) to the upper left and that just feels so east coast Fla. The last image was inviting and so I chose that as the feature image.

What about you- was there an image from today’s post that you liked?

  1. To be fair, I liked all of them today, Yvette. I even returned the cheery smile and wave to Metal Man. Have a good Sunday!

    1. Thanks restless jo!
The metal man image had more curves hiding inside the eatery – the people had curves and so did a few other things…
      Hope your weekend was nice

    1. Hi Leya! The pear seemed to be a top choice today – and years ago I used to keep wire in the art room and it was a good option for a filler activity (like if we had 15 minutes to spare and couldn’t start a big project)
And it is amazing what students do with a bit of wire – many made their names – or cool shapes and items – but not sure anyone ever made a pear!

    1. Thanks – I was a little stumped for this challenge and almost went with skyscrapers from FL and TX – nice curves but it felt so boring today! Hahaha

  2. I loved them al, but the sculptor of the stick figure outside the window make me smile. I’m guessing it is for bikes? Or is truly and advertisement. Either way..fun. Donna

    1. Hi Donna – that is actually a local burger place that is called “burger Bach” and the guy that started it was crazy about grass fed beef from
NZ and wanted to start a place that offered quality burgers. The food is good and the service is average. Ate there three times over a few year period
      thanks for your feedback

    1. Hi Linda – I originally took the photo of the pear for my local friend, Laura,
Because she collects pears. I was thinking of her when I saw that (and wire art is fun)
And the last might be my fav too!

  3. I love all art so I find it hard to choose. Each photograph is saying so much.
Of course, the last painting is unique in that it matches the challenge perfectly and IS a gorgeous painting but
I think the metal guy waving put a smile on my face. Here I have a metal artist husband and never thought to put
his curved artwork for the challenge. HA HA Yvette , you made some fabulous choices.

    1. Izzy! I had no idea your husband was a metal artist …. I love that medium and I think it was around 2008 when I acquired two unique pieces – one is some lines of metal in fish shape and then 16 little metal fish (it reminded me of being fishers of men- but just love the vibe too)

And cheers to the metal guy for bringing a smile
