Hello Readers,
Priorhouse is currently on a short blog break – but I wanted to create a post to say hello and check in.
The theme for the Lens-Artists’ photo challenge this week provided a nice opportunity (while also connecting with Thursday Doors) because Leya invited us to share a photo story – to “share images that tell a story.”
***
The first image to share has four figures: customer left, musician in center painting, employee on right, and then figurine of musician to the back.
I liked the lines in this photo and initially wanted to capture the opened French doors and the variety of items — i.e. track lights, art, worker, diner, small window in back, verticals, etc.
Later I realized the photo had some nice lighting and had a “different times” story.
We see the old parts of this building and the art depicting a jazzy past – and we also see folks wearing face masks and two bottle of hand sanitizer giving us the vibe of now. The old mixing with the new as life moves on.
This next two photos also have a “different times” kind of story – but they are quieter. Old doors still in use now and then diverse chairs with a remodel.
The whispers of the past are felt in each photo — while we also feel the now.
Okay, that is my check in for this week and I hope everyone is having a great start to December. 🙂
If you want to join in with Thursday Doors, go here.
If you want to join in with the Lens-Artists this week- go here. Also, next week, Amy @The World is a Book is hosting the challenge with the theme of Celebrating.
Thanks for your visit.

Answer two challenges as one is a good thing. Thanks for pointing out the people in the first pic because I may not have put that thought together. The second image is my favorite. Have a good weekend.

Thanks so much fan! I plan on being back before Christmas and so I also plan on joining in with Thursday doors later this month – maybe a 2021 wind down post (did I really just type that? 2021 is Amish over – crazy!)

Thanks Tina – and the problem with such old doors is that they might not be energy efficient and could be hard to find replacement pieces – I guess I prefer new – ha

Hi Linda – I wonder how old those floor tiles are- part of that building (first two images) is from late 1700s (in st Augustine @harrys

Old and new, people and doors – love the combo and how you presented it, Yvette. I think the first one will be my favourite, much because of one photo and…many stories. Enjoy your break and thank you for joining in despite the break!

Your composition skills always impress me. Nice selection for the prompts. I hope you’re enjoying your blogging break. It’s a good time of year to do that. Next year, let’s rock pointing out the good and bad chemicals. 😉

Hi Shelley – well I have a few more posts in me before this year is out and as noted earlier – you have completely inspired me to share a bit more about some of what I have learned with chemicals!
Thanks for droooing by this post 😉

Yay – I’ll make note so I come back and check the posts out. I’m just beginning my process of learning the chemicals (I started out with clean Keto) and now am onto the other chemicals. We ditch perfumes, deodorant with nasty chems in them, and fabric softener. There’s a lot to learn and discover about it all!
You’re welcome – thanks for the warm greetings.

Hi Shelley – I will try and make sure I link you when I do get to share some of the tips about things I have learned. that way you will get a link and it will not reply on making sure you visit at the right time – ha!
also, one of my favorite health tips that you shared so far was when you used oil of oregano to get rid of that little patch on your face.
We are so used to chemicals, injections, and lasers (which might have a place) and sometimes patients and good ol’ essential oils are super effective and healthy!!

Yes, please, link me so I don’t get lose touch with your tips!
I just recently commented on a Facebook thread in a gray hair group I follow. Someone asked about how to get rid of seborrheic keratosis spots. I told them I used oregano oil. Some people were super excited, and other’s were like, “That oil burns your skin.” Um, yes, that’s why it works it burned the dang thing off and it hasn’t returned. The dermatologist I saw said she couldn’t recommend it due to lack of studies on it, but she could also not discourage me from trying it as she had heard it works. I saw her at the really ugly stage of my DIY plastic surgery. I sent her the before/after photos and she was impressed and happy for me. I don’t use the other oils much, but maybe I should!?
Don’t get me started on those other treatments…follow the $$$$! 😉

You always post interesting door photos! The french doors have an elegant look to it; it’d be nice to have those kind of doors in a study. whoooo…perfectly conducive for creativity. lol It’s been a long time since I saw arched doors like that. Beautiful.
Nice analysis of the settings in blending the past with the current.
Enjoy your blogging break and stay safe!
