Hello readers, this week’s Thursday Doors are from South Florida – with a splash of street shot flair. I had a little fun cropping the images and I think I might have featured one or two of these doors before – but here is what unfolded from the archives today:

Now for some TUNES
Decided to close with a few songs today – partly because our DJ Clive was out of commission for Tuesday Tunes this week – but also because on a short road trip back in the spring, the radio music was so wonderful. That is not always the case but this was one of those special trips that introduced me to a handful of country songs. This is not my regular genre but like many of you – we like a variety of music. It seems like the radio stations in the Carolinas (while humming along south on 95) played so many country songs that were gems. In my previous post, I shared the Single Saturday Night song from Cole Swindell (sweet ditty) – and so these next two songs are from the same trip.
First Song:
The country tune is Maddie & Tae’s Die from a Broken Heart (2019), which actually reminded me of Thursday doors because at the 1:05 mark it has this: “Can you ask daddy if he’s got time – to come and look at my front door. It got slammed last night – and now it don’t close right.” And that actually reminded me of a scene in the Longmire series where Longmire knew his daughter was dating because the lock on the door was installed improperly – something like that- but that show missed some beats in writing and we stopped watching after a couple seasons.
Second Song:
Bluebird in my Heart by Miranda Lambert (2020) with this tasty part: “And if the whole wide world stops singing / And all the stars go dark / I’ll keep a light on in my soul / Keep a bluebird in my heart.”
Third Song:
My Hero by Foo Fighters (1997) is not country tune and it is not from that spring road trip – just a jam for Clive because I was a little worried about him and am glad he is back home – here is the song Live:

Great gallery of doors, Yvette. Two of the YouTube videos were unavailable for me but perhaps I can get to them on my computer instead of phone. Curious to hear your selections.

Thanks so much Dan – the full shot of the image might be too small to really see much of – but does give a little contact for the crop – and hope you have a nice weekend

Thanks for the Florida stroll Yvette. Love the car. After the Miranda Lambert song (was listening while doing other things) the next song was Miley Cyrus doing a live Backyard Session of Jolene, one of my favourite songs. First time I have heard her version and it was great. One of my fav Foo’s as well 🙂 🙂

I have not heard that Jolene by MC and will check it out – Thanks for mentioning it and I sometimes really love the auto play surprises that YouTube gives us –
And seeking of MC – recently saw her cover “American Woman” and it was so-so –
Anyhow – thanks for the visit and comment be over soon to enjoy some blog wonder from down under

A great selection of tunes and doors, Yvette. I was particularly taken with the yellow car door – something about its classic, traditional style, I think. Many thanks for the dedication, too – very sweet of you to care xx

Well I remembered that you liked Foo Fighters and speaking of them- I did not realize how old My Hero was – I would have guessed it was 2002!
And the old yellow car looked even better on the street near some old art deco buildings and some with the basic Florida stucco – it seemed to be in great shape too

Yvette, I enjoyed the closer image of each set of doors and smiling at the inclusion of the yellow taxi one! Why not! 😀 The music is a treat and setting me up for the afternoon of work!

When I think of restaurants in southern FL I think of places that look like Larios on the Beach. The doors, the name, the whole come inside where it’s cool vibe.

Hi ally – I like the way you said that and the photo did not show it – but that Larios place also had the best tile work – yellows and soft blues with swirls and maybe Cuban designs – not sure what design category but reminds me also of south FL

Doors (and the people near them) tell a tale, don’t they? Thanks for the great music, also.

Hi – what I have noticed is that the story we feel from a photo is from the split second shot hat was captured – and sometimes might infer so many ideas that had nothing to do with real life but yet the photo inferred it or that snapshot whispered it – thanks for the visit and comment

Yes. This is why I also like to use photos for creative writing prompts in my class. Each student sees/focuses on a different item/person/scene that they see in the same photo. Such different perspectives!

Hi – well Key West is a place that should be on the visit list –
because it is so unique –
we have been a few times now and at first I was really surprised by “what it wasn’t” – if that makes sense – and not sure I “love it” but truly special

I like all the doors, but the white with the blue trim and half moon (Larios) the best. I like how you showed the inset, then the larger photo – I like that. Perfect for Thursday doors Yvette.

Love your rendition of thursday doors this week! And in case you are on instagram, there’s a great video of The Foo Fighters taking on the haters of Westboro Baptist Church. It’s under FooFightersLive. They really let that hate group have it in song. I. Loved. it 🙂
