Looking Up to see the artsy lines of winter trees. Seeing the winter trees and then those nests  – it reminds me to “lighten up” about what really matters in life. For it is NOT stuff that really meets our needs – is it? Nope. Let’s hold possessions loosely. Enjoy our stuff – sure – but let us continue to separate our money from our life and our life from our money. For the things that really fill a human’s needy soul cannot ever be bought.

This was a cold day in upstate New York in late November – so Laurie – your hubs is not the only one running in shorts in the cold temps 🙂 – This park was connected to childhood memories and it was fun to explore this area with the hubs. We have been together for more than two decades now (whew) and still so much to share when we visit childhood stomping grounds. 🙂 

 

Sometime last year (way back when in that weird year of 2020) – I had the pleasure of meeting author Pete Springer (thanks Norah @readilearn). His quote on success was worth sharing:

  1. Ha! My hubby is not the only crazy person??? The temperature when we started running today was 14 degrees, with a stiff wind. He finally broke down and wore tights! 🙂

    I loved this line: “things that really fill a human’s needy soul cannot ever be bought.” so true and so beautiful!

    And I just finished writing a post about success too. Great minds…

    1. well I will be over to check out the post you mentioned – and that is fun when we think alike here in blog land – and your husband’s tights sound funny that way – my spouse wears winter leggings with high tech material and I guess that they could also be called tights – ha

  2. Lovely up photos, I love the trees, and nests in the trees too. I am going to join this challenge almost on the last day. At least I’ll try! Cudos to you for every day!

And the first time I joined it was near a month’s end ((so get thinking and hope to see you tomorrow) – and yes, i did every day this time – first time ever and it was nice – got a little burned out with squares around the 20th – but that waned and now one day left.

  7. I love your photos of the wintry trees and the bird nests. We had some crested pigeons nest in a tree in our backyard recently. It was so wonderful to watch them. The nest is empty now but the birds come back to visit for the seed I leave out each morning.
    Those words of Pete’s share so much wisdom. Thanks for linking back to my post.

  11. I am horribly far behind here … I agree with you about not forgetting about what matters in this world. As bad as it is with this pandemic, Mother Nature continues her calendar of events, though the seasons surely don’t look like what I remember over the years.

      1. Yes they do – I could do without our Winter season right now … we’re part of this Arctic Blast that in many Midwest states right now. Thank you Yvette – I feel perpetually behind in WordPress anymore and have been like that the past few months. I used to try and catch up on some news during the work day and go to WP right after work, but that hasn’t worked out so well since we’ve been so busy lately.
