Okay – so thankfully the world is slowly opening up.
People are trying to understand the difference between cases and all that – and toilet paper makers are slowing down production.
Well now we see some things on clearance – like hand sanitizer:
Kind of expected this surplus (squares day 11)
Full Size:
***
And now we see these kind of cool travel packs:
***
I like the content of this travel kit. However, the “healthy” word bothers me. Staying too germ free is no bueno. _ You know what we need for “healthy”?? Vitamin C, B-complex, minerals, and a good cleanse to clean the gut and then enzymes and flora to build the gut microbiome back up. Rebuild your terrain so it can be a strong fighting machine.
This sign made it seem exciting that the the business was available. – The flip side to that is this business shut down after 40 years. Maybe it was time, but I still felt the lossKind of sad to see a business shut down after 40 years (#kindasquares day 12)
The reflection for today is about body knowledge. I am so glad that I learned about gut health and little tips for rebuilding the immune system. Still learning so much, and had some long seasons of exploring, but feel quite empowered.
Below is a video Interview with a doctor that is really cool, Dr Zach Bush.
If you do not have time to watch the entire video – try watching it from the two-minute mark to about the 20-minute mark.
***
Thanks for reading – and remember that Dr. Zach Bush noted that most Americans (and maybe folks from other countries) are 90% deficient in their gut biome – (see the video at the 16 minute mark). So start finding ways to fortify that gut and get your immune system fortified.

Care to join in with the Life of B’s squares this month? Here is some info:
The theme is KIND
Take a square photograph and link to one of the daily squares post on Becky’s blog (here)
That’s the big big issue that’s not being aired, that for huge numbers of people, their state of general health is very poor. Most of us in the northern hemisphere don’t get enough sunlight, hence the demonstrable lack of vitamin (hormone) D that protects us from so many serious conditions. And then there’s the food we eat that has so little nutritional value, either to start with or because we keep it too long before we eat it. Nordic countries add vit D to basic foodstuffs.
Hi Tish – thanks for adding your knowledge on the topic – and another reason for deficiency is “lack of absorption” because of gut problems – or the body has been stressed for so long – all the hormones get imbalanced –
and another reason is enzyme deficiency – all that processed or overcome (or microwaved) food has no enzymes and then some parasites send out enzyme inhibitors – so some folks can be soft greatly with enzymes — and
I was just reading about a thing called “Wilson Syndrome” and there was a section about how enzymes can’t do their “spark plug” work in the body of the body runs too cool – and for some people – their toxins and stress have them took cool (way below 98.6) and with too little oil in the body –
Whew!
And thanks for the reminder about vitamin D! I had someone challenge me a few years ago when I started taking extra D3 in the winter – and the person defended a study that had many limits and also used “D2” – and then I found plethora of info supporting just what you said – the amazing things vitamin D does for immunity and health (and mood)
That’s v interesting about enzymes. Also the malabsorption. It has been going through my mind that the reason the Germans seem to have fared pretty well on the virus front is because sauerkraut is commonly part of their diet. Likewise kimchi and the like for South East Asian countries. As to the negative vit D trials – they seem to have been done badly on purpose. There have been many more better studies recently.
Hi – so sorry to hear that – and we have pockets here – and increasing cases with the the younger folks
— but seems like traffic is getting thicker and just more people out – hope it gets better for -all of us
Immune system is very individualized, and it would be strange to assume that one size fits everybody, meaning, one remedy, treatment or medicine..
It is very amazing to study about all body systems which work tirelessly and simultaneously to keep us in a good shape.
This virus is very specific and its impact is so strong because of vascular damage and blood clotting. It’s not only lungs, unfortunately.
Just as we all have individual genetic features and settings, we will also have individualized response to any threats entering the body.
Immune system consists of innate immune system we are born with and of acquired or adaptive immune system we build and develop during lifetime. Lots of body parts and organs participate and are engaged in order we could fight and conquer the invading organisms: from lymphatic vessels to bone marrow and from adenoids to thymus, spleen and lymph nodes. It’s a very complex system, so, building it up and enforcing takes time.
Everything affects everything, but one cannot go wrong with healthy sleep since that’s the moment when the lymphatic vessels clean your brain and take away harmful stuff.
I didn’t know you were participating in some challenge!
Stay safe!
Hi Inese – thank you for taking the time to write that comment

It was so succinct and I agree with each section – and think we could elaborate for days one some of your points – like how it is the sum of many parts – how individualized it is – because even the way someone “handles” stress can impact immune function –
It really is complex and layered and it bothers me that so many people are kept in the dark – or not taught more about rebuilding their terrain

Signs of the times for sure! Sad to be closing after four decades … things will never rally back to what they were, no matter how pretty a picture you paint.
Well
Said Linda – and maybe that “garage” needed to shut down because they were old school and cannot keep up with training for the new technology

And maybe all this awesome YouTube videos are putting small garages out of business because the “how to” videos empower folks to do more small things on their own!!
You’re right about that Yvette – look how many people became DIYers as they had a lot of time on their hands due to COVID. People did their own home renovations, instead of using a construction company.

Hi Derrick – and I know there are life cycles for all businesses – but the sign did make me a little sad

You raised a good point. I hope once this pandemic passes we do not pick up a habit to be too clean and start getting crazy about germ free living.

Hi – I hope so too – and I hope people just start thinking more about a healthy gut because it is our second brain

Good to know things are improving for you – not for us, though. We’re back to where we were in March. Not good!

We can but hope. It would be a good start if we had governments prepared to take advice and act on it without delaying.
