    1. Yes – the homeless tug at my heart – and I don’t always photograph them but this shot had a certain vibe that I felt needed to be captured –
And d you mean John Barry navel officer from 1700s hahaha ⚓️😅

      1. Some photographs need to be taken, no matter what. If only to remind us of certain things.
John Barry? I guess so. That was the statue. And I’d never heard of him, though I do know a bit of American history. Just looked him up. Now I know a bit more. Quite an important figure. (Why is his statue there?)

  1. Another good look at the streets Yvette 🙂 what an excellent last shot for the challenge. I love these images much more than the well composed and thoughtful last shots, unless you took this on purpose for the composition and shadows which make it a fabulous last shot :D.

    1. Hi / did not take this on purpose – was trying to get a selfie actually – was having coffee with someone and clicked a few shots to get the selfie and this was an accident – and side note – the two selfies I took were horrible so deleted them already

  2. These pictures told some strong stories. The first picture is a good one – photographic story telling one but it is a little sad to see such scene.

    1. Hi YC –
I agree – a bit sad to see anyone with a bed so open in the public space like that — and glad you could see the story part – it was kind of what I felt too …

  3. Yvette, a great selection of street scenes and it is interesting what one sees out and about. The first one is so sad and it is heartbreaking to see the number of homeless on the streets … I feel numb and helpless. The last photo of the railings is almost hypnotic!

    1. Thanks for you ur feedback – and the homeless situation in the US does vary by city.
I drove by half a dozen “tents” under a bridge and made my heart sick to think children might be in there too –
