Photos from Daily Walks (2020 Countdown 13 of 31)

FOR Day 13 of 31 of the countdown to 2020 – I have some top photos from the first part of the “Walking out 2020” (Go here to read about it)

1) Saw a handful of gorgeous sunsets.

__

2) Saw some spots that looked like domino pieces – two fives 🙂
3) Saw this building under construction  —  the four cones had a stable feel. Something about “four” has a math feel – like four quadrants maybe?
4) Same building – down a ways – four trees – with a proud and stately feeling. A few years ago, when the Richmond Redkins training camp was being built – they bulldozed all of the trees and everyone was upset. So now, many builders leave trees as much as possible. Good.
5) Love this photo – I was going for the leaves – and bit of tree – but later I liked the mood of it overall.
6) Hubs took me to this cool park that overlooks the city of Richmond – we did a double walk on this day – makes up for the handful of days missed ((Even though the goal is to have a splash of a walk every day for the physical benefits and fresh air for the mind)) anyhow, this image is also linked to PULL UP A SEAT
7) Mr. Smedley Sculpture (1985). It was fun to see this art memorial for someone who was obviously a big part of this park and neighborhood. I bet he was a nice person. Many readers know my nephew passed away in 2017 and someday – maybe – it would be nice to have something like this erected for him in the neighborhood that he was such a staple in. Maybe – maybe not – but I really  liked the texture of this scuplture. Hope it comes through in the photo.
8) Are you looking for the Treasure Map X? I found it for ya.
9) TRASH… of course – and here we have on the left – the “almighty bad for you Chif-fil-A wrapper – and on the right – empty bag from chips.
10) MORE TRASH… The upper left surgical mask reminds me how some people have to wear these masks today — part of our polluted society and people with failing immune systems. The Broken Wendys spoon reminds me of the early 90s when I loved Wendy’s chili. The coors light also reminds me of a the 90s- visiting the brewery in Golden –  and that can reminds me of a cousin who in CA who (in the 80s) first called it the silver bullet and it was emerging as a Colorado beer.  Lastly – the shadow photo has a spork – I took that to show my step-daughter. When she was really little and first learned about a spork – she loved them and once in a while we would send her a couple in her goody box – or we would have a few in the drawer for her to sue when she visited. She liked those sporks.

    1. Thanks Tish – and my step daughter got the biggest kick out of sporks – it was cute – and the track photo is a top image for this post! I had a wonderful walk that day too

  1. I loved that park, that sunset, that everything about this gallery really. Such a groovy vibe to this one. And yes, the four cones . . I am superstitious and three cones just would not have done. Need the fourth. Or two fives like the dominoes design, 😉

I used to love Wendy’s chili too. That with an order of fries and I was good to go.

    1. Well thanks for the comment on the photos for this round A I have a funny surprise for the second post with walk images (something kind of gross! – )
      And mmmm to
The fries – but for me – I would get a baked potato after my chili – and not sure if you remember this – bout there was a time when Wendy’s would add hamburger patties to the chili – a few times I would get almost a whole burger slice in my chili – and a carnivore like myself – and hungry college person – was pretty excited about that. Lol

  2. I love that park that overlooks Richmond and that photo before it with the walking path and the scattered leaves – perfect symmetry there. Is that a walking path/biking path Yvette. I could very much picture myself in those two parks.

    1. Hi linda – thanks for the comment – the track is near a small Rex center and they have my favorite walking path – varied and not too long – and the park that overlooks the city is not close Enough for me to enjoy often – and I do think you would LOVE it! Squirrels and birds.
Also – there is a warm feeling there of decades past – not just with the Mr schmedly statue –
But the old houses and whispers felt

      1. Yes, I feel like that at Elizabeth Park – just peaceful and many people walking and waving to one another, saying “good morning” but intent on enjoying nature and getting their steps in.

  3. Another collection of great photos, Yvette. I love the park and that track with those leaves scattered all over it – I can see why you like the mood so much. Apologies for my absence recently, owing to me banning myself from blogging because of a lack of time. I had a hideous, long assignment that took weeks of burning midnight oil, all the Christmas preparations, the usual three and a half hour school run to do so something had to give. But I’ve just submitted the assignment and I can get back to blogging and my mead quest at last! Merry Christmas to you and yours, Yvette, and all the best fr 2020. ❤ 😀

    1. Hi – well I know you know this but “real life” always comes before blogging and all the more when it comes
To family and school – as we both know – and sometimes an absence can make us miss someone –
      Ya know ?
So let’s embrace some long pauses (and hope Stuart is enjoying his…) and I know we miss being in the sphere too – but welll–
Looking forward to the mead quest continuation and congrats on getting the monster assignment done 🙏

      1. Thanks again, Yvette. I do indeed know exactly what you mean. Stuart has needed a long pause, but hopefully he’ll be back soon, and he speaks very fondly of your blog. As for the mead quest, it’s been real fun, and its drawing to a close now – I’ll be unleashing Sticky Rogers on the world at the weekend. Fingers crossed for a good flavour! Cheers! 😀
