Things I Love (Lens-Artist #19 – Magical Light)

Hello Readers, time to join in with the Lens-Artists. This week (here) Amy (at The World is a Book) has invited us to share a post about “magical light” and my take includes five images:

1) I love the magical light found in a sunset.  In this shot, we have natural light (warm) and artificial light (cool)- with the silhouette of the funky tree in late autumn.
2) Love a nice sunset at the beach. Had to include a beach photo because a few of the entries for this week’s lens-artist challenge have some awesome seascapes (South Florida, 2018).
3)Love flowers and art.  My Mandevilla is still kicking it in November. Nice. The little hummingbird is a piece of metal art I grabbed at a small art festival. It has lasted a while and it brings me a smile sometimes. This photo was taken right after the sun went down and the porch light made the leaves glisten – adding beauty to the night.
4)Love Mon Torero.  Some new readers to Priorhouse blog might not know about Mon Torero, my favorite painting, and so here it is. On the right we have mon torero with backlight —(held it up to the window) and it makes the painting look bad – but this backight  highlighted some paint crackle, which really authenticates the age of this culture-rich piece.

5) Metal Birds and Accordion-Player Painting. Keeping with my art theme, and things I love, here is a photo of some light coming in on some other art pieces. The metal birds are from when we lived in Florida in 2000-2001; their presence bring essence of that time in life. The little art piece (right) is from Tampa Artist Jose M. (here). I was able to meet him on a 2015 visit to Florida. Funny thing is that I never “loved” living in Florida – but I sure do love visiting the Sunshine State.

Thanks for viewing!

P.S.

Seeing that I was flashing back a bit today… here is a song called Almost Home, which I shared back in 2014, but this version is a little different – this one is a live jam session (inspired by Dale’s recent concert post here) and the stage lights are really beautiful (as is the song…)

  3. Prior to reading this post I didn’t know your name and do not need to Yvette, I mean invent one for you now…
Muchas gracias senor Torero for showing us the importance of light. I initially I thought it was 2 different paintings, (Yvette), Light can certainly change perspectives.
