To connect with Lost in Translation’s After/Before (here), I have an image for all the writers out there – “Write on….”

    1. thanks — and I like each one for different reasons – maybe the card (write on) in B/w – and the patterns – but the back flowers prefer in color….

    1. yeah – I think you are right – I did play with the adjustments for B&W but think you are right –
      also – just noticed that maybe a crop at the top would have made the words “write on” stand out more.

    1. Hi – I have never really made cards – well I did have time making digital art cards and will still whip one out for a birthday – but the card making bug never found the priorhouse – but those who make them have a special art assemblage side, eh? And I bet your sister’s are nice…

        1. well maybe someday you could try – because some art sides come innately – but artistic skills can be cultivated – people usually do not give things enough time – 🙂

    1. thanks amy – and as I read your comment – I could imagine you using filters and whatnot… ha
      and after working with the photo I found that it was not one that “popped” when changed to B&W and I could have found a better photo – but there were little things I liked about both versions – so I am 50-50

    1. thanks – that is an excellent point – and I went back and looked at I also feel the tablecloth pattern more in the black and white – but not sure I love this photo

  8. My vote goes to the color version. It lets me see variety colors of the items (those art works). That lets me appreciate the details the colors of them in this case. It is not that I do not like B&W pictures but I enjoy colors and their tone from them better here.

    1. thanks YC – and I see exactly what you mean – I also think it depends on the photo – because I have some pictures come alive when placed into black and white or a deepened sepia – and then I have seen some look better (as you noted) in their original color….
      and the coolest part is that the lay person has so many options today – digital tech is amazing – eh?

  10. The B&W feels timeless, I think it goes well with the “write on” card, that’s why I’d go with it. But the coloured one is so cheerful, alive, it emanates warmth…

      and the lady at this stand was kind of a beyotch – so that is why I did not buy anything here

  11. They’re both lovely photos, but I find the color version more interesting. I thought the black and white was so pretty, but when I saw the color version, I felt like you turned the lights on and I actually uttered an “Ooh!” 🙂

  14. I liked the colored one better. BW one gave an impression of age, fading memories and death. The colored pic was full of life, bright and welcoming like a happy baby (my nephew to be precise 🙂

      1. Ah thank you Y! He’s all grown up and in college but he’s still a darling 🙂 I feel a bit out of place because the generally BW photos are liked better and I find myself to be in the minority. Although sometimes I do like the BW photos as well just not as a rule. Actually your photo had something unique and special about it – spoke of life, a family, quarrels songs and so much more 🙂

        1. your take on the photo is interesting – and I also liked the “delight” word – and reading your comment made me remember that – it is the card on the right – oh and regarding black and white
          – well there are so many options these days with saturation and adjustments – I feel like some pics are edited on steroids – which can be a good thing – and I did one earlier this year for Paula’s After?before that was all jacked up with the saturation – and it worked for that pic – so i think it really depends

  17. Normally I would choose the black-and-white to make the image less distracting, but this time, I like the words being embedded in a color mosaic. My 2-cents’ worth!
