This string art was made for a local nonprofit to celebrate their ten year anniversary. I think sweet Donna was in charge of creating this.

Two Pythagoras quotes: 

“There is geometry in the humming of the strings. There is music in the spacing of the spheres”

“In anger we should refrain both from speech and action.” 

If you are looking for a project to do over the holiday break – string art might be for you – and here is one idea.

I am not planning on making any nail art right now, but if I did make a piece, it would be something like this anchor (which was sold at Target in Feb. 2016). However, one small goal I have is to make some sort of art piece before 2016 ends – and I will be sure to share about it later in my 365 days of art.

  2. Good morning, Yvette. The first and only time I saw a string art was at our local art center. All walls in a room was covered with strings. I stayed in that room for a long time, but to be honest, I didn’t get it. After reading this, I think, it can be interesting and beautiful, but not easy (like all other kinds of arts.)

  3. Lovely collection of string art Y 🙂 And the second quote “In anger we should refrain both from speech and action.” is also by Pythagoras? I somehow associated him with only theorems and QED 😀
