  2. Thanks for sharing this also on my post. I had no clue likes could be bought, but why not? Just about everything else in this world can be bought and sold.

  3. Since I don’t like Facebook I couldn’t even follow what he actually meant in the video. I don’t care about likes there. They don’t define me as a person. I don’t need them.
I prefer my blogfriends and my friends irl. 🙂

    1. well I’m with you ninja, prefer the blogfriends too!

and I think businesses were more into the “fb likes” for a while there because of business perks for so many thousands of likes….

      1. yeah I know—- but maybe it makes the businesses look more successful – like if they have 10,000 likes the perception is that they are doing better and sometimes that does lead to more interest form other customers – people can be so influenced by what is in or popular – sometimes…. hmmm

  4. Y my ongoing issue with being unable to view the video on my tablet. I will say the day I have to pay for likes is the day I would pack it in. Good grief.

    1. Well that is not fair that the tablet hinders the vids – I wonder what is up –

      does this link work?

  5. Oh dear, this is terrible. Thanks for sharing this Yvette, it’s very informative. I’ve loved Facebook for the way it’s made staying in touch with family and friends all over the world easier but I have been thinking lately that it’s not as good as it used to be – lots of ads and promotional material which spoils the experience.

    1. Hey Jill – well that is what I heard – is that in the last year or two things have been a changing on fb – but it is likely still great for networking with family/friends – and for businesses to post events and allow group chat – but just so interesting about the likes….. hmmmm

  6. Thanks for sharing this video Yvette. I had read the article he was referencing… The video is so much more impact full. This is ridiculous! I wonder how much value businesses place on having likes on their FB pages. Frankly I find most of the advertising on FB totally annoying.

I’m too unable to view videos on ipad and I also don’t get your posts notifications on my email. In some way you are special blogger : enjoyable to read, difficult to reach 😉
